Chevy Chase, Daryl Hannah and Sam Neill star in this science fiction film that strains to fit comedic elements while trying to be faithful to the novel upon which it is based. Ground-breaking special effects at the time ably make Chevy Chase seem invisible-including during his interactions with food, smoking and even his co-stars. Unfortunately, the film becomes a long chase and fails to find its stride-the jokes are flat, the situations forced, and there's few surprises.
