Continuity mistake: When George is talking to two elderly neighbors there is a mailman in the background dropping off a letter in a mailbox. A fraction of a second later he is already walking in the middle of the road. (00:32:50)
Life as a House (2001)
Ending / spoiler
Directed by: Irwin Winkler
Starring: Kevin Kline, Kristin Scott Thomas, Hayden Christensen, Jena Malone
George (Kevin Kline) is no longer in condition to work on the house and is taken to the hospital and dies. Sam (Hayden Christensen), his mom (Kristin Scott Thomas), Alyssa (Jena Malone), Alyssa's mom (Mary Steenburgen) and others finish the house; Sam convinces the neighbor who hates George's dog to stop threatening them with lawsuits because of the house's extra 6 inches of height. Once the house is finished, Sam and his mom go visit the girl who lost her parents years ago in that car accident (where George's father was involved) and talk to her about giving her the house.
Mirai no Trunks
Sam: I've been using since I was 12! You're also unbelievably stupid, you know that? You didn't give a shit about anything I did up until now.
George: Well, I'll apologize for everything but today! Today I give a shit.
Trivia: Hayden Christensen didn't like wearing the heavy makeup and jewelry required for this movie. He complained that he was made to dress as adults saw goth teenagers and not as they actually were, which is why his character is so overly made-up, especially toward the beginning.
Question: I've seen this movie a couple of times, but I still don't get the deal with the man in the car that Sam goes to at night. What was he going to do?
