Trivia: When Mitch, Felicia and Bernice walk down the Broken Hill main street in drag, the reactions of the local people are completely real and unrehearsed. No-one had been given any warning that the film was being shot.

Trivia: Make sure to watch till the end of the credits to find out what happens to the makeshift kite.

Trivia: Leaving on the bus from the pub in Sydney they go the wrong way down a one way street. No one seemed to care.

Trivia: Most of the crew can be seen in the movie at some point. Costume designer Lizzy Gardiner played the "Naughty" maid at the hotel, and director Stephan Elliott was the doorman.

Trivia: According to the DVD commentary, director Stephen Elliot wanted the drag queens to scale Ayers Rock (Uluru) at the end. But the park owner refused, claiming that he thought the film sounded dumb (and probably because climbing Ayers Rock is generally dissuaded). Elliot wanted to beat him up badly but didn't. In the end, he settled for Kings Canyon for the finale.

Continuity mistake: Tik is practising their dance routines and he is wearing a green dress and he's got a cigarette in his hand. In one shot the cigarette is there and in the next, which is far away, it's not there.
