Continuity mistake: When Cort starts the RV and drives away, all of the interior lights are on inside the RV. Yet when we see an exterior shot of the RV before it flips over, the lights inside the RV are no longer on. (00:37:10)
Continuity mistake: In the film Tommy pulls the rod out of Jason and you see Tommy remove his right hand glove. In the next shot, Tommy is taking off the right glove again. (00:07:00)
Continuity mistake: When Tommy throws Jason's mask in his grave, when Jason wakes up from the lightning bolt. Jason picks his mask up off the ground yet Tommy threw it in his grave. (00:05:40 - 00:08:10)
Revealing mistake: When Tommy goes to the Sheriff's station to warn everybody about Jason, Sheriff Garris ignores this warning. Tommy freaks out and grabs a shotgun but Sheriff Garris throws him to Deputy Rick, who drops the fast-food boxes he was holding. We can see and hear that these boxes are empty when they go flying. Plot hole: How did Tommy get Jason's mask? I don't think the police would let him keep it as a souvenir.
Suggested correction: This is not the same mask from the previous movie.
Yes, it is. It even has the ax mark from the end of the third movie.
It is a very different mask. The only things that match are the shape and the axe wound. The color changed from yellow to almond. The straps changed and snap on buttons that attached the straps were replaced with rivets. The half missing large red chevron has been replaced with a red triangle. The two smaller triangles under the eyes are gone. All the damage and chipped paint from part 4 is missing. This mask has more in common with the mask in Tommy's dream in part 5. My opinion - Tommy made it.
Revealing mistake: In the film Tommy runs to his truck after Jason has been brought back to life. Tommy is seen jumping into his truck and the engine rev's before he has even put the key in the ignition. (00:08:10)
Continuity mistake: When Megan dives into the lake her hair is in front of her face but in the very next shot it's combed back. (01:16:50)
Audio problem: In the film Tommy is on a boat in the lake and Jason comes after him. Tommy opens up the gas can and spreads gas in the water around the boat and ignites it. When the gas ignites and the scenes following have the fire giving off a cracking sound (like wood burning), fuel burning on the water would not have that type of sound. (01:14:25)
Continuity mistake: When the group of kids enter the police station, Cort has his headphones around his neck, then a few shots later, he takes them off his ears. (00:05:10)
Continuity mistake: When Jason enter Paula's cabin, we hear her screaming and then blood splats on the window. The amount of blood on the window differs in the next scene. (00:56:45)
Revealing mistake: When Jason rams the iron pole through the windshield of his first victim's car, the windshield breaks like normal glass. (00:13:50)
Continuity mistake: When Cort and Nikki drive away in the camper, there is a large framed picture on the wall behind Cort above 2 smaller pictures. In one exterior shot of the camper pulling out, the larger picture is gone, but it re-appears in the next scene. (00:37:20)
Revealing mistake: During the Paintball game, Jason decapitates 3 players who are standing side by side all in one swing of his machete, unfortunately all 3 people are of completely different height to each other so there is no way he could have decapitated them all at once. Also, even a viewer with the poorest eye sight can see the boxes the 3 dummies are standing on when their heads fly off. (00:23:15)
Continuity mistake: In the RV scene, all of the lights are on. After they are killed, its completely dark.
Continuity mistake: The tire tracks in the mud left by the VW go past where Jason is standing in the middle of the road even though Jason hasn't moved. The shots looking at the car from behind Jason show no tracks in the mud at all. (00:13:08)
Other mistake: To the right of Lizbeth on the window you can see a reflection of a U shape object offscreen that is not there in the next shot when she begins to back up. (00:12:40)
Revealing mistake: When Jason turns to heart punch Hawes his hand is already bloody before he punches. The blood flies off his hand when he pulls his arm back. A piece of bloody meat can be seen on top of his hand when his arm comes forward. (00:08:12)
Revealing mistake: You can see the light used to simulate lightning turn on and off in the reflection of the eye. The light is circular and right beside another stage light. Real lightning would have outshined the other light and the entire pupil would have flashed white. You can also see it again in the next closeup of the eye. (00:07:00)
Continuity mistake: The curtain rod and curtain that fall to the floor in the struggle disappear. (00:40:09)
