Factual error: In the opening scene of the film where Buddy and his band are playing at a skating rink, Buddy is playing a Fender Bronco electric guitar. The scene takes place in the mid-50's, but Fender didn't make the Bronco until the late 60's-early 70's. Later in the film he plays a Fender Telecaster at the Apollo Theatre. Every actual photo of the appearance shows him playing his trademark Fender Stratocaster.

Suggested correction: The guitar in the opening is not a 'Bronco'. It is a Fender MusicMaster which was produced in the 50's, therefore the opening scene would historically be correct.

Incorrect, it is a Bronco - the pickup is to the rear close to the bridge the musicmaster pickup is near the neck.

Furthermore, the MusicMaster has a curve on the scratch plate at the top the bronco doesn't.

Factual error: In the final concert scene, Buddy is shown playing a 1965 Fender Stratocaster, a CBS era model with a large headstock and "fat" CBS era Fender script logo. Needless to say, it didn't exist in 1959.
