A View to a Kill
A View to a Kill mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Bond climbs out of the burning elevator to fetch the hose in order to rescue Stacey, you can see the two cables behind the elevator door are unlit, but after a quick cut to Stacey, we return to the door and the cables are now on fire. (01:26:40)

Continuity mistake: When Bond is in Mr Howe's office at San Francisco City Hall, the exit-only door is marked "Divisions of Oil and Mines" when he leaves. But when Stacey is fired, the door is marked "Division of Oil and Mines." (01:07:00)

Suggested correction: It's two different doors that are seen. Both go to the same office but it's two different doors.

Ssiscool

Even if you think it's different doors, it's still a mistake to label the same office with two different names.

Bishop73

Well one is a single door, the other is a double door so different doors. With regard to it still being a mistake, probably. It is in City Hall after all.

Continuity mistake: The locomotive that Scarpine drives in the quarry throughout the mine sequence has an all-green radiator, but when he and Zorin come out of the mine, the top of the radiator is black. (01:48:30)

Suggested correction: That's because they are on a different locomotive. If you watch closely, the one they ride in parks by the hut that ends up under water. They take one that is on a separate track and raised rock.

Audio problem: When Zorin says to Bond, "Your mount, Mr. St. John Smythe", his mouth is not moving. (00:45:20)

Audio problem: When Bond says "Be a good girl will you, and put her on automatic" to Kimberley Jones in the iceberg submarine, his mouth is not moving. (00:05:30)

Continuity mistake: When we see Mayday jump from the Eiffel Tower in close-up, it's only a rather tiny jump (and would probably have resulted in her crashing into the tower on the way down). But in the next shot, shown from a distance, she is now about ten feet out and has completely cleared the tower. (00:18:20)

Continuity mistake: When Stacey is running towards Bond after Zorin's plan to destroy Silicon Valley failed, his airship is gaining on her. When we see a view from the airship, Bond is on the grass and running on gravel, but when Zorin captures Stacey, Bond is back running on the grass again. (01:55:00)

Continuity mistake: During the steeplechase sequence, Bond is attacked by one of Zorin's exercise boys wearing a yellow helmet. After a quick cut to Zorin looking over his shoulder, we return to Bond and he is now being attacked by a different rider with a dark green helmet, while the rider with the yellow helmet is now at the back of the pack. (00:48:30)

Audio problem: At the beginning where James Bond makes a helicopter crash the sound of the helicopter makes a sound of a plane about to crash. (00:04:50)

Factual error: Zorin throws a 2 liter bottle of gasoline on the elevator in which Bond and Stacy are trapped. The fire from gasoline is nowhere near hot enough to melt a steel elevator cable. (01:26:30)

Jacob La Cour

Plot hole: After sneaking into Zorin's secret laboratory, why did Bond and Tibbett decide to spend another day there? They would have known that the two guards they fought would inform Zorin they were spies and blow their cover. Besides, they already knew how Zorin was winning the races, so staying another day was just suicide. (00:39:40)

Revealing mistake: After Mayday drops the recalcitrant businessman out of the zeppelin, there's a long shot of him falling into the water far below. An obvious dummy, his legs are flailing much too limply (and in too many directions) to be human. (00:56:10)

Audio problem: Scarpine's comment about Bond hanging from the mooring line doesn't match his lip movement. (01:55:30)

Suggested correction: If you watch closely you will see that it does match up.

Continuity mistake: When the police officer is trying to arrest 007 in front of the fire truck, Bond is assuming the position, facing the truck, with both hands pressed against the side. Bond turns away from the truck, removing his hands from the side, but in the next shot, when the camera zooms into Stacey, his hands leave the truck again. (01:29:50)

Continuity mistake: Bond's air tank is perforated on the middle after he has thrown it into the propeller blade. But it would have been hit in the end, not in the middle, after being pushed into a fast spinning blade. (01:01:30)

Jacob La Cour

Trivia: The disclaimer, "Neither the name Zorin nor any other name or character in this film is meant to portray a real company or actual person," was added after the producers discovered a real company known as Zoran Ladicorbic Ltd, whose industry was fashion design. This is the first Bond film to begin with a disclaimer.

Question: When Bond gets trapped underwater, could it be possible for him to survive using the air in the tyres?
