Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Trivia: Finn and Rose's mission on Canto Bight is interrupted by the fact that they parked their ship illegally. This also happens to the heroes in the Star Wars parody film Spaceballs by Mel Brooks that came out in 1987.

Trivia: Rian Johnson wrote TLJ without knowing how TFA was going to end or how the trilogy would be concluded in Episode 9.

Trivia: The Porgs on Luke's island only exist because the real island is the habitat of puffins, and filming couldn't interfere with them. It proved more appealing and frankly simpler to digitally alter the appearance of the puffins, rather than erasing them entirely.

Trivia: Rogue One director Gareth Edwards makes a cameo as a Resistance fighter on Crait.

Trivia: First Star Wars film in which none of the main characters say "I've got a bad feeling about this." Although Rian Johnson has confirmed that the line is beeped by BB-8 early in the movie, after which Poe Dameron tells him not to be so worried about their current mission.

Trivia: During filming of the scene where the Jedi Temple is burned down, Mark Hamill broke down crying. The tears you see are real.

Trivia: Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill stated in some interviews that wasn't sure about the film's treatment of his character at the start of production, but he still stuck with the script out of respect for director Rian Johnson's vision. When news of this was revealed, many misconstrued his comments and concluded that Hamill disliked the film. On the contrary, Hamill later clarified that despite his initial hesitance, he thought the finished film was quite good and a worthy addition to the series.

Trivia: The name of the bird creatures on Luke's island ("Porgs") is never mentioned in the film. Much like the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi.

Trivia: The gloved hand that grabs Han Solo's dice at the end of the movie belongs to director Rian Johnson. (Source: Film School Rejects).

Trivia: When Kylo swings his lightsaber towards Luke during their fight on Crait, the "Wilhelm scream" can be heard.

Trivia: This is the first Star Wars film featuring Chewbacca not to have actor Peter Mayhew playing the part. He retired after The Force Awakens.

Trivia: This is the first "Star Wars" film in which Kenny Baker was not involved with the portrayal of R2-D2. Jimmy Vee was given the role before Baker's death in August 2016.

Trivia: Spoiler! As is mostly traditional in Star Wars films, an appendage is severed. Supreme Commander Snoke loses his hand - we see it fall to the floor after his death.

Continuity mistake: During the throne room fight against the red-armoured guards, one of them splits his weapon into 2 blades. In the shot where he gets Rey into an arm lock, the blade in the guard's left hand vanishes from the scene completely, in the middle of a shot. The hand that held the weapon is obscured by Rey's body at the point when the disappearance happens. It could be that the actor dropped it (a strange thing for an elite fighter to do), but then the blade is nowhere to be seen on the floor in the wider shot when Rey kills him.

Kylo Ren: Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to. That's the only way to become what you are meant to be.

Question: Why do Snoke's guards attack Kylo Ren and Rey after Kylo kills Snoke? They no longer need to obey him, and he is past protecting.

Answer: Kylo Ren has betrayed the First Order. They were loyal to the First Order. You are assuming they only did so out of fear of Snoke rather than out of loyalty.

Answer: Kylo killing Snoke is no different than any leader being assassinated. If the U.S. President is assassinated, the Secret Service will come after the assailant (s) even though the president is past protecting.
