Other mistake: Griff enters Cafe 80s and tells Grandpa to wax the car. Grandpa stands up and walks to the door, but Griff keeps looking at where he was standing before. This was due to the VistaGlide system of filming an empty space without stunts that could serve as cues as to where to look at.

Sacha

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie when Doc smashes through the trash cans, his glasses are not on. In the shot where he steps out of the car they are.

Revealing mistake: When Doc flies the DeLorean up and the wheels get stuck to a banner string, the close-ups of Doc show a lit cockpit, but the shots from the outside show it's dark and one can't really see who's at the wheel. However, for a couple of seconds you get to see it's not Doc but a stunt double or a stiff dummy. (01:23:25)

Continuity mistake: When Doc turns the time circuits on as he is about to head over to the high school, the 'Destination Time' is under 'Last Time Departed', but in the next shot, it is back to being over it like normal. It should also be noted that the month is represented by a number in the first shot, but with letters in the second. Additionally, one of the LED's is burnt out in the first, but is back to being lit in the second. (01:23:30)

Continuity mistake: When Marty confronts Biff in the alternate 1985 in the hot tub, the girls change positions. The blonde was on his left and the brunette was on his right. When they see Marty and scream, they move forward but there is no way they can switch that fast. (00:55:40)

Audio problem: When Marty is watching himself talk to Lorraine after playing Johnny B. Goode, you can see and hear Lorraine, "I hope you don't mind but George asked me if he could take me home" but watch her lips and listen. It's way out of sync.

Audio problem: When Marty follows Biff into the dance hall trying to get the sports almanac, right after he uses his binoculars he exits the dance hall. If you listen carefully to the music, the music plays uninterrupted, when given the jump in scene it should skip to a further point in the song.

Biff: Look, Lorraine, you walk out that door and I won't only cut off you, I'll cut off your kids.
Lorraine: You wouldn't!?
Biff: Oh, wouldn't I? First your daughter, Linda. I'll cancel all her credit cards. She can settle her debts with the bank all by herself. Your idiot son, Dave. I'll get his probation revoked. And as for Marty. Well, maybe you liked to have all three of your kids behind bars just like your brother Joey. One big happy jailbird family.

Trivia: In an interview, the director stated that hoverboards were real, but they weren't on the market because parents didn't like the idea of floating children. He said this as a joke, but this didn't stop mass hysteria as thousands of kids went from store to store looking for hoverboards.

Question: Doc Brown strongly believes that nobody should ever find out about their own future. With such a strong conviction, why would Doc tell Marty that his children going to prison is the one event that would ruin the whole McFly family?

Answer: At the end of the first film, Doc says, "what the hell" in response to the letter Marty gave him. So this shows it is not that strong a conviction, especially in the face of definite knowledge about something bad happening. It is also a way for Doc to repay Marty.

MasterOfAll

Answer: Doc advises Marty to not tell him about his future because it may affect his life. It doesn't matter what happens to his kids at all.
