Factual error: The movie is supposed to take place in and around New York City, however during the car chase where Angelina and Brad are fighting off the three BMW's, a wide shot clearly shows a street sign announcing Los Angeles.
Continuity mistake: When Ann meets Kong on NYC street, the camera flashes back and forth between them. When it shows Kong, he is surrounded by snow, but when it shows Ann, the street doesn't have so much as a snowflake.
Continuity mistake: Look at the dirt when Herbie backs away from the nose of the newer Beetle, between the races out in the desert. Although Herbie drove straight up to the newer Beetle, tire marks can be seen where the crew moved the car back and forth to get him lined up.
Factual error: There is a brief shot of a couple driving through the streets near Eatonville, Florida. In the background a mountain is visible. There are no mountains in Florida.
Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie Bailey's hair gets longer and shorter.
Continuity mistake: After his father's funeral, when Drew turns on the ignition and in following shots, the leather band that he wears on his right wrist (not the watch) is clasped with its strap facing his thumb, yet when he passes the sign for 60B, the band goes round the opposite way. Factual error: When Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney 1st arrive in London Debra goes to a pub to change her outfit, the shot showing the outside of the pub you can see an American style traffic lights eg walk, don't walk which are nothing like the English green man red man traffic lights.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where the piano collapses, after Madea's chainsaw rampage, you can see the wire that pulls the piano apart.
Continuity mistake: In the fight between Barkis and Victor in the church, Victor slashes at Barkis with the fork and leaves 3 very noticable tears in Barkis' jacket. These tears aren't seen in any of the subsequent shots. (01:09:15)
Other mistake: When Sarah is at her Aunt Mitzi's house looking at the yearbook picture of Beau Burroughs, Beau's name appears on the top of the list, yet his picture is farthest to the right in a row of pictures. Yearbooks list names with the top name being on the left, and the last name on the right.
Audio problem: In the scene where Todd and Jeremy are in the bedroom together and Todd is lying on top of Jeremy asking to play "tummysticks", - right before Sen Clary is about to come in and Jeremy begins to panic, watch Jeremy as he's lying on the bed talking. You hear him say about three sentences, but see his mouth move for about one from the left side view of his mouth.
Continuity mistake: When Jack Twist is chopping wood, right before Joe Aguirre visits him on his horse, he sets up a piece of wood to chop. Jack talks to Joe and when the camera pans out to show him ready to chop again, the piece of wood is gone.
Factual error: A very common error in First World War films. British soldiers were not permitted to shave their upper lips until 1916 - in 1914 almost all (unless physically unable to grow them) would have had moustaches.
Continuity mistake: When David goes to see his friend for coffee, watch J.J.'s coffee mug. From behind, the handle is on his left. From the front, it's on his right. (00:15:10)
Visible crew/equipment: When Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore are taking their seats after the guy yells peanuts and crackerjacks, if you look carefully you can see some of the seats behind are actually filled with mannequins dressed with clothing. Factual error: The frozen treats used at certain points in this movie are labeled with nutrition labels found in the U.S. today. The labels looked extremely different in the 70's.
Continuity mistake: When Charlie looks across the street and notices Viola and Ruby sitting for lunch and that Dr. Chamberlain is in fact a waiter, in the first shot Chamberlain hands Viola and Ruby a menu each. In the next shot he's holding them again. (01:02:35)
Factual error: One of Angel's lyrics (in "Today For You, Tomorrow For Me) refers to the movie "Thelma and Louise." Rent (the movie) is set in 1989-90. "Thelma and Louise" was released in 1991. This was caused when they did the move from Broadway to the screen. The stage show did not specify the year. So when they adapted the stage show to the movie, they didn't check the references.
