Revealing mistake: How on Earth can Selby get those skin tight T-shirts over that huge cast on her arm? They cannot possibly stretch any more than they already are - look at the scene where she and Eileen are checking the mail. There is no way that sleeve would fit over the cast without ripping! It is well beyond the capacity of that tight T-shirt to stretch to that extent! Obviously Christina Ricci had the cast fitted after she was in costume.
Revealing mistake: When Marin and Jack Nicholson first enter her mother's house, Marin is wearing white pants, and it is noticeable that she has a thong on. When she gets into bed with Jack, she is in full underwear.
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie, Sarah and Tom are at the airport returning from their honeymoon. While walking through the airport, Tom pushes Sarah and she gets coffee spilled on her shirt. Later, when she approaches Tom in the parking lot for a ride home, the coffee stain has suddenly disappeared from her shirt in this shot. (00:02:15)
Continuity mistake: When the guys are looking at Andie's purse on Ben's desk, the two handles are sticking straight up but the close up shot shows the front handle folded over, and then the next wide shot shows them both up again.
Continuity mistake: Unable to make his shadow stick Peter is upset and when Wendy surprises him he zooms up to the ceiling and bangs his head. In this shot the light fixture hangs flush with the ceiling under a decorative medallion around the base. Later, when Peter floats to the ceiling after John says, "You offend reason sir" the fixture now hangs way down on a very long chain. (00:15:00 - 00:21:15)
Continuity mistake: When Cody Banks crashes a rocket propelled snowboard into a tree, Ronica Miles meets him using a jet pack. When she lands, she unbuckles herself and all the straps are seen free. After a shot of Cody's snowboard in the tree, it goes back to Ronica and she begins unbuckling herself from the jet pack again.
Continuity mistake: After Sarah has called at Harry's office, Harry prepares to open his office door to see her out. The camera cuts back to Sarah for a moment, then back to the camera angle on Harry as she walks to the door. In that short space of time, the sliding cupboard doors have changed their configuration, and the blinds in the upper left of the frame have partially closed. (00:18:45)
Visible crew/equipment: In the closeup of Evie when she is holding a spoon under her eyes, you can see the boom mic reflected in each spoon. (01:04:15)
Continuity mistake: During the dance sequence for "That's the Way (I Like It)" Kelly's shoes change twice: at the beginning she is wearing open-toed black shoes, then she is wearing sneakers for about two seconds, then back to the open-toed shoes and finally to the sneakers for the remainder of the scene. Factual error: Sarah Polley is dying of cancer. She's not told anyone, and the film is about completing her list of things to do before she dies. There's a scene where she's talking about children with her neighbour, a nurse, the woman who she eventually 'sets up' to replace her, to look after her husband and children, when she's died. The nurse refers to a truamatic incident having nursed Siamese twins in hospital, who both die. She describes how one died before the other -the boy, then the girl. This is medically impossible, as Siamese twins are always the same gender.
Revealing mistake: Near the end of the movie, after Jude Law has been shot, he is lying on his back with Nicole Kidman leaning over his face. In the shot looking up at Kidman past Law's left ear, you can see the webbing for Law's wig on his left temple.
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene after the huge fight with the Buddists, Jack Nicholson speeds off in his Land Rover and cuts into traffic to get away from the monastary. If you look three cars back there is a state trooper weaving through both lanes to make sure the set is closed. He stays visible throughout the scene. (01:07:35)
Audio problem: When Lizzie is performing at the end of the movie at the awards show, at the part where we see her from the back facing the blue light, her voice sounds like it's changing. It seems like it's someone much older singing, or the synthesizer went wrong. It just obviously isn't Lizzie's voice anymore.
Continuity mistake: When Daphne goes into the Hotel in London, she walks through the door and loosens the scarf around her neck. When she turns around to look at Ian, her scarf is tightened around her neck again.
Factual error: When Renee Zellwegger arrives in New York, she exits her cab in front of the United Nations. The Canadian flag is visible. The movie is set in 1962, and the form of Canadian Flag in the shot was not adopted until 1965.
Factual error: Cadence arrives for the wedding on a 727. Closer examination of the aircraft's livery reveals it is a Kitty Hawk Airlines aircraft. This would be fine were Cadence air freight, as Kitty Hawk is a cargo airline. (00:28:40)
Continuity mistake: As Honey Daniels is introducing the dance benefit in the very last scene, the chain she's wearing jumps from outside her shirt/top to the inside and back a number of times between shots.
Factual error: When Marylin Rexroth's ex-husband dies, she inherits his money because he had not removed her from his will after divorcing her. Under California Probate Code ยง 6122(a)(1), the dissolution of a marriage automatically revokes any disposition or appointment of property made by the will to the former spouse.
Continuity mistake: When Bob puts Charlotte into her bed, he first lays her down with her skirt slightly pulled down so that her belly button is showing. In the next shot, the skirt is pulled up to meet the bottom of her shirt-barely any skin is visible. (00:52:15)
Audio problem: When Alex is trying to talk Emma into staying as they walk down the stairs in Alex's apartment building, Alex mouths something completely different from what is being said.
