Trivia: R.D. Wingfield, author of the book "Frost" on which the series is based, hated the show.
Trivia: Aside from his considerable talent and theatrical qualifications, the reason that Jeremy Brett's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes was so nuanced, meticulous and authentic is because the role was therapeutic to him. In real life, all throughout the various Granada Television series (from 1984 to 1994), Brett was plagued with manic-depression, erratic behavior and heart problems, from which he fatalistically felt he would never recover. Immersing himself in the mentally-disciplined character of Sherlock Holmes gave Brett much-needed focus and clarity in the last ten years of his life.
Trivia: John Munch is the only fictional character played by a single actor to appear on eight different TV series. He was a series regular on Homicide, and crossed over onto "Law & Order", "The X-Files", "The Beat", "Law & Order: Trial By Jury", "Arrested Development", "The Wire", and became a series regular on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".
Trivia: A number of the actors portraying police officers, suspects, and others have a southern accent, even though the show is set in Colorado. That is due to the fact that, although establishing shots were filmed in Colorado Springs, the reenactments were filmed in Tennessee, to save on costs.

Trivia: Pierce and Moretti are questioning a woman at her front door. The doorbell chime is the theme from Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Fittingly, she thinks her husband was abducted by aliens.
Trivia: As Frank is running up the stairs in the FBI, just before he meets Peter you can see "Mulder and Scully" walking down the stair case - this is in fact David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson's stand-ins, but they do look a lot like them.
Trivia: Ben Barnes plays Frank Castle's friend Billy Russo. In Stardust he played the father of Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil in another Marvel/Netflix series.
Trivia: When Barry is checking the results of his tests in the police lab, he turns to the computer to view the screen. The camera changes to see the screen, and for just a moment (just a few frames) we see what was on the screen before his results - a couple of stolen car reports, one of which is that of "Joliet Jake Blues" (from the Blues Brothers movie). And yes, the car and licence are the same as in the movie. I don't know what the connection is; I assume someone on the crew loved that movie. (01:12:00)
Trivia: The blue Ford Cortina squad car seen in series 1 and 2 has the reg number NHK 296M. Sometimes it is fitted with a false number DLO 97M on the front (as has been noted as a mistake). The programme makers had been supplied with two cars from Ford, this Cortina and a Consul GT. The Cortina was fitted with this false plate to make the squad look like it had more cars, and only one number plate (the white front one) was made up to keep costs down, as the Sweeney had a small budget. In the series 3 episode "Pay Off" DLO 97M is on a white Cortina, in series three the same Triumph 2000 is seen with number plates TPA 931N and UUV 931N - again it is the same car with different number plates.

Trivia: When Bodie and Doyle chase Goodman from the kennels, the assassin puts a bullet into the Capri's tyres. Apparently this wasn't in the script but written in later as the car suffered a genuine blow-out when filming the scene, causing stuntman Peter Brayham to nearly crash.
The Scorn of the Star Sapphire! - S3-E5
Trivia: After freeing Miss Taylor from the grip of Star Sapphire, Green Lantern encases her in a green energy box and flies her away. The box is shaped almost exactly like a shuttle craft from Star Trek. (00:15:50)
Trivia: Instead of the Royal Air Force, the series has a fictitious British Air Force with largely invented insignia. Ranks are taken from the RAF, but sometimes different rank insignia is worn (e.g. an air vice-marshal wearing air marshal's insignia and a flight lieutenant wearing flying officer's insignia, although another flight lieutenant wears correct insignia).
