Trivia: The woman who choreographed the dance scenes in the movie is also the choreographer for the Backstreet Boys. She uses a lot of "Backstreet style" dance moves in the movie, especially during Sara's second audition for Julliard. The dance moves she does with the chair are the same moves the Backstreet Boys use in their video for "As Long As You Love Me".
Trivia: The pretty girl in the corvette that pulls up next to Hamilton, when he is wearing the Pirate uniform, is Nancy Wilson of the rock band Heart. At the time Wilson was dating Cameron Crowe, who wrote the film's screenplay, and later got married.
Trivia: When Maurice is looking for Trish outside the CD store, you can hear him say, "I'm gonna find your Aaliyah lookin ass." Trish is played by Aaliyah.

Trivia: A popular film poster shows Emily and Victor reaching their hands toward one another. Emily's bony hand is on her right and Victor's suit and vest are backwards (note its buttons). Some say it was for legal reasons - Johnny Depp's name was supposed to appear on the poster first because of a contract, and they wanted the characters underneath the corresponding star names, hence the issue. Others say it was simply because the picture looked better with the bride on the right side.
Trivia: When Milos Forman, who plays Father Havel, talks to Edward Norton about faith in the private quarters of the church he tells Norton that he came to America when the Russians invaded Czechoslovakia. He actually did so in real life.
Trivia: Herbert Marshall, who played Bette Davis' husband, Horace Giddens, lost a leg in WWI and wore a prosthetic limb. When Horace is desperately attempting to get upstairs to get his heart medication (otherwise he will die), he briefly goes off camera and is replaced by a stunt double who attempts to crawl up the staircase.
Trivia: In the scene where Bridget and Shazzer are on the plane to Thailand, where Shazzer first meets Jed, both she and Jed are reading "The Beach" by Alex Garland, a book about young travellers in Thailand. One of the main characters in the book is also called 'Jed' and many of the scenes featured in the film are mentioned in this book (such as drug trafficking, transsexual Thai prostitutes, etc).
Trivia: There is a carnival scene in the movie which actually took place in Times Square in New York. The cast and crew had to run around after it to get a perfect shot.
