Chernobyl Diaries picture

Plot hole: Natalie uses her cell phone to record the injured and bleeding Chris, but it never occurs to her to use the phone to call for help? And how is it possible that in 2012, she seems to be the only one with a cell phone? It is simply not possible that she could not get a signal - the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is festooned with mobile telephone masts - precisely because of the inherent danger of being lost there.

Suggested correction: Uri said at the beginning of the film that he has never gotten a signal whilst in that area.

Then Uri is wrong, or he is lying for some bizarre reason. The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is festooned with mobile antenna masts and if there was one place on earth where you could absolutely guarantee getting a signal, it is there.

Plot hole: One of the flying dragons impacts the right outer engine of the B-29, and the fire spreads to the right inner engine. The crew lands the plane on the island, and the girls rebuild both engines, despite the fact there are no parts available on the island.

Theatre of Blood picture

Plot hole: Edward Lionheart severs the head of theater critic Horace Sprout while Sprout and his wife are asleep. (Lionheart gave them both a knockout injection). Sprout's wife (and his maid)discover the severed head in the morning, and both scream and faint. But in the next scene, critic Perry Devlin retrieves his morning newspaper and then reaches for his bottle of milk, only to find Sprout's head perched on the milk bottle. How did the head get from Sprout's house to Devlin's place?

Plot hole: With people around the world turned into zombies, there is no way to maintain power plants, thus no lights should be lit, not to mention the functionality of an amusement park.

Halloween II picture

Plot hole: In the first scene Alice hears on the radio that three teenagers had been murdered in Haddonfield just down the street from where they live. Yet a few scenes later, the sheriff finds out from his deputy that 3 bodies have been found. Wouldn't the police department know that before it made its way onto the radio news?

Suggested correction: When Alice is on the phone, she tells her friend she can hear the sirens so the police knew about the bodies. As for the sheriff, he'd been busy with Loomis all night. He might have heard about the bodies in the house but figured the other policemen could handle it and that way he could continue helping Loomis. The main reason the deputy came to talk to him, however, was to tell him that his daughter was one of the victims found.

Halloween II was a troubled production, and the scene with Alice was added during re-shoots. Note that the previous scene with Mrs. Elrod also includes a news report about the discovery of the bodies. I've seen no concrete evidence of this, but I've wondered if the scene with Mrs. Elrod was shifted closer to the start of the film, and was originally meant to take place after the scene with the sheriff.

Good theory, but the deputy runs up to the sheriff and informs him for the first time of all three bodies.

Blade: Trinity picture

Plot hole: It is said that Drake has been sleeping for 4,000 years. But Drake specifically mentions that he witnessed Christ being crucified, which happened around 2,000 years ago. This harkens back to a plot line where Drake had only been sleeping since the turn of the century, abandoned in favor of the one shown in the movie.

Plot hole: When the survivors first make an attempt to break out towards the station they kill numerous assailants at close quarters and yet only one of them (Uno) is infected. There must be dozens of the parasites floating around, enough to infect them all.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor picture

Plot hole: Zi Juan tells the rest of the group when they are in Shangri La that she will take the first watch at the entrance and guard against the emperor getting in. A few shots later, she then decides to have a conversation with her daughter nowhere near the entrance, and now with no-one guarding, means he gets in unchallenged.

Suggested correction: A character briefly leaving their watch to deliver important information as Zi Juan was doing isn't a mistake, and it's definitely not a plot hole, since it in no way contradicts the movie's logic or creates a hole in the narrative. At best, Zi Juan was being a little foolish leaving her watch, but a character being a little foolish isn't a "movie mistake." After all, people make foolish choices all the time in real life. Plus, as demonstrated by the movie, it doesn't really matter anyways - the Emperor's powers are back, so she wouldn't have been able to stop him even if she had kept watch.

The Order picture

Plot hole: How did a woman who had just escaped from a mental institution get out of the country so fast? Even if she had a passport already, she wouldn't have it - the hospital or her family would. How could she get it back from them without SOMEONE turning her back in to the institution? It takes a lot to get involuntarily committed in the US, and I doubt she could get un-committed that fast, even with the guy she tried to kill vouching for her.

Alien Vs. Predator picture

Plot hole: A big deal is made about the pyramid reconfiguring every ten minutes, which the archaeologist surmises because the calendar is metric (powers of ten). Why then would it be in minutes, rather than a truly metric time measurement (eg a 100th of a day)?.

Nosferatu picture

Plot hole: When Nosferatu is caught in the sunlight towards the end, his reflection can be seen in the tall standing mirror in the corner of the room. This makes no sense because vampires do not cast reflections. Deliberate or not, in the original Bram Stoker novel, there is a scene in which the character Harker is shaving, and is disturbed to see that the Count casts no reflection. There is also a passage that states, "He throws no shadow, he make in the mirror no reflect." Some would argue that the rising of the sun robs him of his powers, giving him the reflection. But his reflection is visible before the rooster starts crowing, before the sun even rises.

Suggested correction: That's all from the book, none of that is established in the film.

A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors picture

Plot hole: The TV-watching girl is killed when Freddy shoves her face first into a TV set. (one of the more creative movie deaths.) But the thing is, all the other deaths have been set up to look like suicides if not accidents - this one was obviously foul play, since there's no way she could have launched herself into the glass of a TV screen hard enough to break it. We see that her body is found this way, but they make no inquiry.

Suggested correction: Not all of the deaths were meant to be suicidal; Phillip and Kirsten were the only exceptions. When Will and Taryn were killed, it was in the dream when they wanted to help Kirsten but nobody was there to witness it and it was much later in the film. Also when Joey was caught by Freddy, he was only passed out but still alive. The one kid that cut his eyelids off was not only never shown but his death happened by his own doings out of fear for Freddy.

It doesn't matter if Jennifer's death wasn't intended to look like a suicide - she is in a locked ward and was the victim of a homicide. Yet there's no investigation.

Why would there be an investigation? Especially when she was the only one in the room - apart from Freddy - or maybe there were cameras there?

Battle Royale picture

Plot hole: After Nanahara and Noriko run away from Akamatsu at the school, Niida shows up from behind some bushes opposite the school and inadvertently kills Akamatsu with his crossbow. But Niida is Boy 16, which means he should still be in the school building (he's supposed to come out after Noriko, who's Girl 15). There's no way he has any time to get into those bushes.

She confronts Alex and Megan near the end, and they run away from her and then fight with the Puppet Master. Plot hole: If the dinosaurs are so dangerous, why are they only kept behind plastic sheeting at the back of the truck, rather than in cages? There are computers in the truck, so obviously people must go in there, and it wouldn't be very safe to use computers if dinosaurs were roaming free in the trucks.

Suspect Zero picture

Plot hole: During the end of the film chase scene, Agent Mackelway calls Agent Kulok and gives her a vague location of where they are and asks for back up. Considering Mackelway had been kidnapped and driven out into the country, it should have taken Kulok much longer to arrive at the scene instead of the few minutes that are indicated.
