9 (2009) ending / spoiler
1 (voiced by Christopher Plummer) sacrifices himself so that 9 (voiced by Elijah Wood) can remove the talisman from the evil machine. 9 removes the talisman and uses it to recover the souls of his friends and then the machine is destroyed. 9 releases the souls of 1, 2 (Martin Landau), 5 (John C. Reilly), 6 (Crispin Glover) and 8 from the talisman and they ascend. Rain starts to fall and in the rain drops there's little green organisms that will restore life to the world. 7 (voiced by Jennifer Connelly) asks "What do we do now?" and 9 says that it's up to them to rebuild the world...
