Marley & Me ending / spoiler
After living a full life with the Grogans, Marley has to be put to sleep due to complications of a twisted stomach. Despite all the trouble he was & the fact that John called Marley "the world's worst dog", John tells Marley that he was a "great dog" before he is put down. The movie ends with the family holding a funeral for Marley with tearful statements by the various members of the family, including Jenny taking off the necklace that Marley had eaten earlier in the movie & putting it in the ground with Marley.
