The Science of Sleep (2006) plot summary
Following the death of his father, Stephane (Gael García Bernal) has moved from Mexico to Paris at the insistence of his mother. There he finds himself unhappy and stuck in a dead-end job pasting texts into calendars, when he'd rather be creating paintings for the calendars. He's about to leave when he falls in love with his neighbour of a similar name, Stephanie. She does not return his love, and to cope with the heartache, Stephane turns to his dreams, hoping that she will share them and fall in love with him too.
