Half Light ending / spoiler

The "ghost" of 'Angus McCulloch' is infact a conman called Patrick. He's in cahoots with Rachel Carlson's soon to ex-husband Brian and her supposedly best mate Sharon Winton. Brian has become so insanely jealous of Rachel's natural writting skills that he's set out a plan to make her crazy enough so that if she suddenly dies everyone will assume that she topped herself. Sharon has been encourging him as she's after the £4million book deal Rachel will soon be coming into collecting. Patrick removed the film from her camera earlier on and stole all the newspaper clippings surrounding the murder suicide of lighthouse deaths, as they contained images of what the 'real Angus McCulloch' actually looked like. Feeling a twinge of guilt, Patrick returns to collect the reel of film and then unbury the sea shell mementos of Rachel when he sees the lights in the lighthouse being switched on and off. Curiosity gets the better of him, so he heads off inside whereupon he encounters the actual ghost of Angus who posesses him. Brian and Sharon during this time are chaining Rachel to an anchor, but she manages to swipe the key to their padlock before being tossed overboard. Deep in the depths she loses it, but her son's voice tells her too look round so she can see the key steadily sinking to the bottom. She grabs it in time and frees herself. By now Brian and Sharon have gone into the lighthouse looking for Patrick. Rachel shows up with a flare gun a struggle ensures whereupon the flare is fired starting a fire that alerts Finlay Murray to her plight. Sharon gets her head smashed against a wall and dies from her head injury. Brian heading up the stairwell encounters possesed Patrick who slams a hook into his chest and leaves him dangling from it, suspended in mid-air. Partick approaches Rachel and gives her back the shell before Angus compells him to hurl himself over the balcony to his demise on the sea swept rocks far below.Finlay shows up to find Brian suspeded in the air in an exact reanactment of the previous crime, whilst Rachel is left looking on at the death of her supposed lover. She returns home at finally manages to sit down at the spot her son drowned
