Melanie dies and Ashley finally tells Scarlett he has aways loved Melanie. Scarlett realizes she does not care and that she does after all love Rhett. Rhett, however, has given up on waiting for her love and leaves her. She decides to return to Tara and to think of a way to get him back - after all tomorrow is another day.
