Adam Sandler plays a normal guy with a family, but he gets too annoyed with all the problems he has at work, with kids and with the collection of remotes that turn on everything around the house. After he snaps he drives to bed, bath and beyond to buy a universal remote. In the store he is so tired he collapses on a bed- looks up and sees a door saying 'beyond' on it. After he goes through he finds a worker called Morty who gives him a universal remote. Adam Sandler returns home and to his surprise the remote can change everything! He can mute sounds, pause his life, have a commentary on his life and loads more. He soon uses the remote to get the love of his family but lots of things start to go wrong...

Factual error: When Morty is showing Michael how to use the remote, Michael rewinds to a family vacation in 1976. A childhood friend of his invites everyone over to his parents' RV to watch Three's Company. Three's Company didn't premiere until 1977.

Suggested correction: Although technically this is true, ironically there WERE two pilots for Three's Company filmed in 1976 with some similar and some different cast members, which may or may not of actually aired at the time after being filmed. The 3rd and final pilot with the familiar cast got the show finally rolling in 1977. So the mistake stands, but it could be a bit iffy based on this info.

This mistake does not need correction. This is just trivia that does not impact the mistake. Both pilots were unaired, so they couldn't have watched it on TV. Additionally, this was his summer vacation and the first pilot was taped in May and the second one was taped in November.

Michael Newman: Twinkie. Don't need it. You don't need it, man. You do need a Yodel, though. Good job.

Question: I don't really get it. Why doesn't he just rewind and start over when things start going bad? Did I miss something?

Answer: He can't start over, all he can do with rewind is view the past. The remote was a learning remote. The choices Michael made were his and they were permanent. Morty goes over this when he explains the virtues of the remote to Michael.
