After the Sunset ending / spoiler
While Lola (Salma Hayek), Agent Lloyd (Woody Harrelson) and Sophie (Naomie Harris) are scuba diving, Max (Pierce Brosnan) has someone temporarily replace him and he heads over to the cruise to steal the diamond. When Max gave the blueprints and plans of the cruise to Henri Mooré (Don Cheadle) he also gave him a false strategy for stealing the diamond so that when he attempts the robbery, he'll easily get caught. On the cruise ship, one of Mooré's goons is caught by security when he takes a false route in the storage room and Max takes advantage of the diversion and steals the diamond. Max then quickly heads back to the area where Lola and the others are diving. Later that night, Mooré goes to Max's house and almost kills him but Lloyd suddenly appears and kills Mooré. Max and Lola lie to the police saying that Mooré asked Max to the steal the diamond and that he said no, didn't want to get involved and walked away. After being questioned by the police, Lola leaves, upset that Max stole the diamond because he promised that they were retired. The next day, Lloyd reveals his master plan starting by telling Max that he knows where he hid the stolen diamond: in a hole in the leg of a dock on the beach, after scuba diving. Lloyd was spying on Max the night he was making the hole on the dock; that was the night that Lloyd was supposedly drunk but he was faking it, taking advantage that Max didn't know that the exotic drinks from the bar don't have alcohol. Lloyd also reveals that his "vacation", the pamphlet of the cruise and diamond that he gave to Max (at the beginning of the movie) and his attempts at "stalking" Max to make sure he wouldn't steal the diamond was all done to encourage Max to steal the diamond. After stealing the diamond, Lloyd would take it from him, sell it and retire from the FBI. Lloyd leaves and Max feels like a fool and he talks to Lola before she leaves. He promises that he'll spend more time with her and that from now on they're really retired. As Lloyd is about to leave, feeling triumphant that he has the diamond, his car starts moving on its own and it's Max that's controlling the car by remote control.
