Past Midnight (1991)

Ben Jordan never did slay his wife...his drinking buddy...Todd Canipe did along with Steve Lundy and a pair of cops who had earlier shown up to bring Ben Jordan in...and only came back to see why Laura Matthews needed help. Todd is discovered to have slain many more pregnant ladies prior to the opening story.This is because Todd was sexually abused by his pregnant sicko mother which sparked off his killing spree and hatred for women (He reveals this while forcing laura to view his past homicides). As he springs out from behind some bushes to lunge at Laura with a hunting knife (prior to a fight with Ben), she having faster reflexes ends up shoving a double barrelled shotgun into his torso and blows open his chest (as Ben looks on in shock).
