The community centre is saved because George has a change of heart. Lucy and George live happily ever after after Lucy runs after George to thank him in the street after he apologizes and everything. They profess their love to each other. In the end Lucy actually orders Chinese for two.
Angie
June Carter: Do you know what I like even more than chess?
George Wade: Pokémon?
Trivia: In the trailers (on the radio in the UK, anyway), there's a bit with Hugh Grant saying something like "This is no job for a grown up - drinking without being responsible...actually, it doesn't sound that bad". This was never in the finished film.
