The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ending / spoiler

Frodo gets to Mt. Doom, becomes corrupted by the Ring and refuses to destroy it. Gollum leaps forward to get his Precious from Frodo, bites off Frodo's finger to get the Ring and falls into the Cracks of Doom with the ring whilst celebrating. Sauron is destroyed. Arwen marries Aragorn and Aragorn becomes king of Gondor. He is given the ancient sceptre of Numenor. It is revealed that he is the heir of Isildur. Théoden dies in battle and Éomer becomes king of Rohan. The witch-king gets slain by Eowyn. Éowyn marries Faramir, who is given Ithilien to rule as a gift from Aragorn. Everyone goes home. Saruman is not mentioned at the end of the film at all. Several years after the quest, Frodo, Bilbo, Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel, and others take the last ship to the Grey Havens. Sam marries Rosie, inherits Bag End and everyone lives happily ever after.
