Boys Don't Cry plot summary
Brandon Teena, a transgendered female-to-male (FTM), was born Teena Brandon. When he is forced to leave town after committing a crime, he winds up in Nebraska, where he meets and befriends Candace, a single mother. Candace introduces Brandon to Llana and her group of juvenile friends; he is charismatic and fresh-faced, and townsfolk grow enamored with him, not knowing about the secret he harbors. Young and foolhardy, Brandon acts recklessly despite the dangers of his biological identity being discovered. Llana and Brandon fall in love, as one of Llana's guy friends becomes suspicious of Brandon and who "he" really is. This movie is based on a true story.
