Showtime plot summary
When LAPD detective Mitch Preston (Robert de Niro) shoots a news camera during a bust, the police chief orders him to work on a reality cop show, "Showtime" with LAPD Officer Trey Sellars (Eddie Murphy). The show is run by producer Chase Renzi (Rene Russo). Mitch and Trey are totally opposite and do not work well together at first.
Their first case is about a huge gun that can destroy a house. The TV show is a hit.
