Vanilla Sky

Everything that happens to Tom Cruise after he collapsed in the street is really his Lucid Dream, an additional option for those who sign up for Life Extension (L.E.). Julie's "return from the dead" was actually a glitch in the Lucid Dream caused by Tom Cruise's guilt over Julie's death. Kurt Russell is just a character in the L.D. What REALLY happened after collapsing on the street was that Cruise never saw Sofia again, he regained control of the company from the Seven Dwarfs, signed up for the L.E. and killed himself by taking a lot of pills. The tech support guy tells Cruise that he's in suspended animation and in order to wake up he has to jump off the building. He says good bye to Sofia and Jason Lee. Cruise jumps and wakes up from his suspended animation.

Continuity mistake: When the panel of doctors are being queried by Aames, for the second time of the loop of this interview, the black box containing the mask can clearly be seen in the bottom right hand corner on the desk when the camera swings to the main doctor. When the camera pans back again, it is gone, and it is only after this that the assistant brings in the box.
