Ending / spoiler

(11 votes)

The entire team refuses to play the last game unless Rudy does, so the coach finally agrees to let him play. The game's nearing its end, and Rudy still hasn't gone on the field. The Notre Dame sideline begins chanting "Rudy," and soon, the whole stadium is cheering for him. The coach lets Rudy in on the last play, and Rudy sacks the quaterback to end the game. The entire stadium goes wild and Rudy is carried off the field by the players. We learn that since 1975, no other Notre Dame player has been carried off the field.

Monty

Factual error: Rudy's high school, Joliet Catholic, was all male when Rudy attended. In the movie, however, there are girls in his class. (00:09:10)

Question: What is the name of the actor who plays Notre Dame player 75, last name Mateus? I can't find him in the credits. He's the guy who starts chanting "Rudy" during the Georgia Tech game. Somebody said it might be WWE Superstar Al Snow, aka Allen Sarven, but it's not.

Answer: According to IMDB, Al Snow plays an uncredited Notre Dame football player in the film, so it might actually be him.
